Warriors of Virtue is a 1997 martial arts fantasy film directed by Hong Kong filmmaker Ronny Yu in his American English-language directorial debut, written by Michael Vickerman and Hugh Kelley, and starring Angus Macfadyen, Mario Yedidia, and Marley Shelton. The film was an international co-production between the United States, China, Hong Kong, and Canada.
A boy enters a strange world where he is befriended by five kung-fu fighting kangaroos who each represent a different virtue--benevolence, righteousness, integrity, wisdom, and loyalty. Together they battle an evil ruler.

Warriors of Virtue: The Return to Tao (set a few years after the original film) sees a new villain, Dogon, seize control of Tao, a parallel universe forming the film's major setting. On Earth, 12–year–old Ryan and his friend Chucky arrive at a martial arts competition in Beijing, whereupon they are unexpectedly taken to Tao.

14 de jun. de 2023 · Warriors of Virtue was a project conceived by the four Law brothers, who were all surgeons in Hong Kong. The two conceived the film and financed the $56 million budget with money from their father, a toy manufacturer. The film was seen as having international breakthrough appeal and was shot in English with American actors in locations vying between Beijing and Vancouver.
