The Dream Syndicate's fourth album proper, and their last one, regardless of their first live record in 1984 and the subsequent 'Live at Raji's', 'Ghost Stories' turned out to be a fairly balanced compromise between the rawness of their earlier work and the more elaborate sound of its predecessor, the excellent 'Out of the Grey'.
