Tomorrow Comes The Harvest project started with late Tony Allen, one of the originators of AfroBeat and Jeff Mills to get together to create an improvisational type of performance. The idea was to not pre-prepare or to preplan anything, but just to play in the moment spontaneously and to reach for the same understanding musically.

14 de jul. de 2018 · The ongoing collaboration between techno pioneer Mills and Afrobeat drummer Allen dates back to December 2016, when they played at a jazz club in Paris. As Mills revealed in an interview with Fact in 2017, the project began when Allen asked Mills to play on an album with him. "Everything [Allen] does is part of a conversation," Mills said.

Out on September 8th via Axis Records, Evolution seeks to transcend the way of intersecting sounds and rhythm through an array of improvisational movements. Following the death of founding member Tony Allen in 2020, the group is now a trio consisting of Jeff Mills, Indian tabla player Prabhu Edouard and Guyanese keyboardist Jean-Phi Dary.
