Eivind Austboe holds the LIU Post men’s soccer record for most goals (65) and most points (149) in a career. Since 2014, the LIU Post Department of Athletics has adopted nine varsity sports – men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field, women’s bowling, equestrian, women’s fencing, women’s golf and wrestling.

The LIU Post men’s lacrosse team has won three NCAA Division II National Championships – 1996, 2009 & 2010. The LIU Post men’s lacrosse team has won four-straight East Coast Conference Championships, dating back to 2013. Prior to 2019, the two LIU campuses had two athletics teams, C.W. Post had the LIU Post Pioneers, and competed in Division II. The LIU campus in Brooklyn competed at the Division I level as the Blackbirds. In July 2019, the two campuses merged their two athletics teams into a single unit competing in Division I, and assumed the name LIU Sharks.
Eivind Austboe holds the LIU Post men’s soccer record for most goals (65) and most points (149) in a career. Head Men’s Soccer Coach Andreas Lindberg is the all-time winningest coach in program history. He has compiled 103 wins and led the Pioneers to back-to-back NCAA Division II East Region Championships in 2014 and 2015.
Patrice Walker is the only LIU Post women’s basketball player to score more than 2,000 points. She scored 2,051 points from 1977-81.
