As both the treatment and the illness began to take their toll, Lee Brilleaux suggested that the band should do a gig at the Dr. Feelgood Music Bar on Canvey Island. Although, initially reluctant due to the obvious deterioration in his friend’s condition, Fenwick eventually agreed that a "one-off" Dr. Feelgood show was a possibility, although the subsequent demand resulted in a two night event.
