Produced by longtime collaborator John Shanks, The Medicine Show features some of her most honest songwriting to date, paired with beautiful instrumentation and her signature roaring guitar.

12 de abr. de 2019 · Für mich ist dieses Album von Melissa Etheridge ihr bestes seit "4th Street Feeling". Sie meldet sich gewohnt kraftvoll zurück. Das zeigt gleich der Opener "The Medicine Show". Das zweite Lied "Wild and Lonely" ist eins meiner Favoriten auf diesem Album. Ich finde es besser als die Single-Auskoppelung "Faded by Design".

10 de abr. de 2019 · In that spirit – and because I’ve learned that honesty is the best policy with these things – that first song on “ The Medicine Show” (the title track as it happens) is the first Melissa Etheridge song I think I’ve ever heard. I’ve seen the name, of course. I am aware of her stellar career, but for whatever reason she’s past me by.
Two years later, Etheridge switched to Concord's revived Stax imprint to pay tribute to classic '60s soul on Memphis Rock and Soul; the record debuted at 34 on Billboard's Top 200. Etheridge designed her 2019 album The Medicine Show as a restorative, healing record. It was released on her M.E. Records imprint in April 2019.
