Cold River Lady was a rock band that was formed in 1970 in Hereford in the Welsh Marches of England. Their music however drew on far wider influences. With its eclectic mix of acoustic guitar, lazy rural rhythms and a sharp electric edge and strong melodies and lyrics, it combined rock, folk and blues influences, with sophisticated flavours from the likes of Arthur Lee, Tim Buckley and Caravan.
Cold River Lady were discovered by Pete Brown (who wrote the lyrics for Cream's major Hits 'Sunshine Of Your Love, White Room', 'I Feel Free') in the spring of 1971 and he was very taken with Cold River Lady's song writing efforts and offered them a publishing deal with his company.
Ms Parchman’s remains were found on May 3, 1975 floating in the Nation River south of the town of Casselman in Ontario, Canada. Attempts by local and provincial authorities to identify her over the years were unsuccessful, and the case went cold. In early 2019, OPP contacted the DNA Doe Project for help on the case.
