Melvoin was born on this date in Los Angeles in 1964, and grew up amid a musical family: her father Mike Melvoin was a member of the Wrecking Crew, her brother Jonathan Melvoin was a touring keyboardist with Smashing Pumpkins, and her twin sister, Susannah, was also a regular Prince collaborator.

Wendy Melvoin (born 26th January 1964) was Prince's guitarist from 1983 to 1986. She was a member of the Revolution. Prince formed the Revolution in 1983, that included Wendy on guitar. She appeared on the Purple Rain album and film. She also appeared on the subsequent Around The World In A Day and Parade albums. She left Prince's band when the Revolution broke up in 1986.
