22 de feb. de 2017 · Well, Mike made the sensible decision to re-activate the Mechanics, although it meant he would have to bring brand-new singers into the fold. Enter Andrew Roachford (best known for his UK solo hit "Cuddly Toy") and Tim Howar, along with a third singer, Arno Carstens. The result is "The Road", the first new Mike & The Mechanics album in seven years.

In 2017, around the time the Mechanics release eighth album Let Me Fly, Rutherford told Prog the story so far.
