A los 13 años contrajo matrimonio, el 18 de octubre de 1424, con Cecilia Neville, que contaba 14 años de edad, hija de Ralph Neville, conde de Westmorland, y de su segunda esposa, Juan a Beaufort, hija a su vez de Juan de Gante y de Catalina de Roet-Swynford. De este matrimonio nacieron 13 hijos: Juana (n.y m. 1438).

Cicely (or Cecily) Neville, was one of the vast brood of children of Ralph Neville, Earl of Westmorland, by his second wife, Joan, daughter of John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster. Cicely was born and brought up in the great Neville stronghold of Raby Castle, Durham.

She was married in the year 1507 in Roxwell, Essex, England to John Weston, Earl of Westmorland, they gave birth to 1 child. She died on May 20, 1573 in Raby, Durham, England.
