Very few of us around the Slits camp - the extended 'Slits Family' as Ari would say - were privy to the knowledge that she was ill, but even then she still seemed to be using sheer energy to power through it.
The Slits were a punk rock band based in London, formed there in 1976 by members of the groups the Flowers of Romance and the Castrators.
