Founded in 1879, the Alumnae Association of Mills College (AAMC) is an independent nonprofit organization that promotes the interests of Mills College alumnae—who number more than 26,000—through action, information, and lifelong connections and learning.
14 de sept. de 2021 · Mills College will merge with Northeastern University, after a vote by the Board of Trustees on Tuesday. The partnership between the schools is expected to take effect on or around July 2022. This comes after months in court with the school’s Alumnae Association of Mills College, which has sued to get more information about the proposed deal.

Mills College in Oakland, which had previously planned to close by 2023 because of financial woes and falling enrollment, has announced a merger with Northeastern University in Boston that would keep the campus open.

11 de feb. de 2022 · Mills College administrators have said Northeastern University will be flexible with students who need to transfer credits or change degrees, to make the transition as smooth as possible. Christie Chung, a professor of psychology and an associate vice provost at Mills, encouraged students to have an open mind about the possibilities at Northeastern.
