31 de may. de 2012 · At long last Joe Louis Walker's first two "Live At Slim's" CDs have been packaged together in a two CD set,for a damn good price. Vol 1 was recorded Nov 9 ,1990 and Vol 2 on Nov 10,1990. Together,they show Joe in fine form as a singer and guitarist. His backing group,The Bossman are real tight,but buried further back in the mix.
It took bluesman Joe Louis Walker 20 years to establish himself, but once he released his debut, Cold Is the Night, in 1986, he quickly became a staple in contemporary blues. Walker drew upon blues, soul, and gospel in equal measure, a combination that sounded electrifying upon his national debut, but this hybrid also allowed him to play in a variety of settings, both on-stage and on record.
