Im Juli 2011 nahm der Bürgermeister von Milwaukee, Tom Barrett, den Beginn von Bon Ivers Welttournee zum Anlass, den 22.Juli zum offiziellen „Bon Iver Day“ der Stadt zu machen. Begründungen hierfür waren der internationale Erfolg beider Alben der Band sowie die tiefe Verwurzelung derselben mit Justin Vernons Heimatstaat Wisconsin.
