Hildegard Bechtler is een Duitse bekroonde kostuumontwerper en scenograaf. Ze werd geboren in Baden en groeide op in Stuttgart. In de jaren 70 verhuisde ze naar Londen, waar ze sindsdien talloze scenografieën voor opera en theater ontwierp. In 2011 won ze de Olivier Award for Best Costume Design voor de reprise van After the Dance bij het National Theatre.
