Hal Lindes. Hal Lindes (born June 30, 1953, Monterey, USA) is an English-American guitarist and composer. In 1980 he was a part of the British rock band Dire Straits, recording albums with the band before he gave up the guitar playing to concentrate on his first love of composing film music. He has composed music for a large amount of films.

Hal Lindes, working alongside Mark Knopfler, was a member of one of the world’s most commercially successful bands, Dire Straits, with worldwide album sales of over 120 million, winning numerous music awards during their career, including four Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards and winning Best British Group twice.
