Jim McCarty, egentligen James Stanley McCarty, född 25 juli 1943 i Walton i Liverpool i England, är en brittisk trumslagare. McCarty föddes i Walton i Liverpool-området, men växte upp i London från han var två år. Han gick på Hampton School där Paul Samwell-Smith var en medelev.

They immediately got to work on their first, self-titled album, a remarkably fast ’n’ furious explosion of fuzz and proto-metal highlighted by a berserk, hell-for-leather cover of Parchment Farm .
