12 de dic. de 2020 · In her essay “Masochism, Masquerade, and the Erotic Metamorphoses of Marlene Dietrich,” Studlar (1990, p. 234) responds to Kaplan’s remarks by arguing that Dietrich’s fetishization may well be constructed in order to please a male audience but that “the implications of that fetishistic process seem much more textually and psychologically complex than Kaplan allows.”
