Led by singer/songwriter Tony Dekker, Toronto's Great Lake Swimmers play wide screen modern folk music to drive across the country to. Formed in 2004, the group issued its self-titled debut in 2005; that release, whose sparse, almost meditative sound recalled the work of the Red House Painters, earned the group the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s Galaxie Rising Star Award.
