True Colours is the sixth studio album released by New Zealand band Split Enz, and was their first major commercial success.Released on 21 January 1980, the album featured more pronounced contributions from co-lead singer and songwriter Neil Finn than previous releases. The album's New Zealand and Australian number 1 single, "I Got You", which also broke them internationally, is credited to him.

There are two available versions – the 1974 version on The Beginning of the Enz has a Tim Finn lead vocal, while Mental Notes features Judd’s bleating voice.
1976, 8/10. Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera offered to assist Split Enz with their second album, and the group relocated to England. Second album is something of a misnomer for Second Thoughts, as it’s essentially a revised version of their debut; all but two of the songs had previously been recorded by the group.
