Phillip Rhodes was born in Forest City, North Carolina in 1940 and received degrees from Duke University and the Yale University School of Music. His principal teachers have been William Klenz, Iain Hamilton, Donald Martino, and Mel Powell.
12 de feb. de 2007 · Full Disclosure: Phillip Rhodes (or Mr. Rhodes, as I still think of him) was my first composition teacher, approaching 20 years ago, and without his early guidance I doubt I would be a composer today. So, my impressions of this music are hard to separate from my knowledge of him as a teacher (and a terrific teacher at that).

Philip Rhodes Prior to entering civil litigation, he served as an Assistant Public Defender in the Law Office of the Public Defender in the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida. After leaving the Public Defender’s Office, Phil has dedicated his practice to representing homeowners against insurance companies who have either improperly denied or underpaid on their claims.
