Najväčšia sila Batman Begins spočíva - podobne ako v X-men (hlavne v jeho druhom dejstve) v doslova až pitevnom psychologickom rozbore charakteru hlavnej postavy. Nolan mal oproti Singerovi navyše ešte veľkú výhodu v tom, že sa nemusel orientovať na skupinu postáv, ale iba na jednu hlavnú a zopár vedľajších.
