So it was a relatively short-lived act, but at the time it was a sort of Canterbury scene supergroup featuring members and ex-members of acts like Delivery, Matching Mole, Gong, and Caravan, which meant that Hatfield and The North got some attention.

Hatfield and the North is the first album by the English Canterbury scene rock band Hatfield and the North, released in February 1974. In the Q & Mojo Classic Special Edition Pink Floyd & The Story of Prog Rock, the album came #34 in its list of "40 Cosmic Rock Albums".
Hatfield and the North è il nome dell’autostrada che collega Londra al nord dell’Inghilterra.
