Recorded May 1968/"Lila Eule"/Bremen. First edition of this record, privatly released by Peter Brötzmann. This is the same pressing as Peter Brötzmann Octet - Machine Gun, but with a handmade sleeve. Brötzmann ran out of sleeves, but still had records of the first pressing, when this was ordered, so he draw a sleeve by himself with a marker.

Machine Gun ist ein Jazzalbum des Peter Brötzmann Oktetts, das im Mai 1968 in der Lila Eule in Bremen aufgenommen wurde. Es erschien zunächst im Selbstverlag und wurde 1972 bei Free Music Production wiederveröffentlicht. Das Album gilt heute als Meilenstein des europäischen freien Jazz, dessen Intensität kollektiver Ausbrüche den Hörer „gewehrsalvengleich überfällt.“

This has the remastered version of the original Machine Gun LP from 1968 with a couple of alternative takes and the live Frankfurt version from the "Fuck De Boere" release just so you can compare and contrast. CD released on Atavistic as part of their Unheard Music Series in 2007.
