Brest (/ b ʁ ɛ s t / [Note 1] Écouter) est une commune française, chef-lieu d’arrondissement du département du Finistère dans la région Bretagne. C'est un port important, deuxième port militaire en France après Toulon, situé à l'extrémité ouest de la Bretagne.
Brest, formerly Brest-Litovsk and Brest-on-the-Bug, is a city in Belarus at the border with Poland opposite the Polish town of Terespol, where the Bug and Mukhavets rivers meet, making it a border town. It serves as the administrative center of Brest Region and Brest District, though it is administratively separated from the district.
