13 de may. de 2024 · Among 1508 tested dogs for all four pathogens of interest, Babesia spp. were detected in 435 (28.8%) and E. canis in 112 (7.4%). Babesia gibsoni was detected in 408 dogs while B. vogeli was detected in 27 dogs. Babesia canis was not detected in any dog.

Man kann unterschiedliche Arten unterscheiden, aber nicht alle kommen in Deutschland vor. Babesia canis und Babesia ginsoni sind die wichtigsten beim Hund.
Hace 2 días · Here we report a case of a 10-year-old pony gelding presented for fever and acute inspiratory dyspnoea. Clinical signs of hypovolemic shock were observed. Blood smear examination revealed a mild anaemia and thrombocytopenia with the presence of intraerythrocytic inclusions resembling Babesia caballi merozoites.

This study evaluates the therapeutic efficacy and antioxidant activity of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) as an adjunct treatment for canine babesiosis caused by B. gibsoni.
