Bottom line: Kellogg’s might have had a winning recipe with this lightly sweetened puffed rice cereal, but it’s culturally insensitive branding and marketing did not age well. A few years after debuting, Kellogg’s changed the Hawaiian theme. The cereal still never really caught on.
