Rosemary’s baby is more of less a straightforward mystery horror film. Once the plan is revealed it becomes a horror movie that shows the characters being horrifyingly dominated by something, someone, or by themselves. You cannot compare Rosemary’s baby to The Shining or The Thing because it isn’t trying to be these two to begin with.
