Christ Church, formally titled "The Dean and Chapter of the Cathedral Church of Christ in Oxford of the Foundation of King Henry the Eighth", is the only academic institution in the world which is also a cathedral, the seat of the Bishop of Oxford.
The Cathedral is a working building, with a dual role as the cathedral for the diocese of Oxford and the college's chapel. Services are held daily and the Cathedral is open for private prayer via the Tom Gate entrance.
