The American Academy of Dramatic Arts is the first and finest acting school in America, training students to become professional working actors in theatre, film & television with campuses in New York and Los Angeles.
History. The London Academy of Music was established by Henry Wylde in 1861 in St. James's Hall; there were separate sections for men and women. [17] [18] Teaching began on 15 November 1861, at which time the cost per annum was 15 guineas, or £15 15s 0d. [19] Students of all ages "with a decided talent, or showing an aptitude for learning" were admitted. [19]
About the Acting exam. Our Acting Exam learners develop their vocal, physical and interpretive skills while they delve into characters and explore the background of dramatic texts. Alongside producing authentic performances of their chosen scenes, they also gain an understanding of the context and characters within them.
All US-based applicants for the Acting courses apply direct to LAMDA. Members of our Pathways Programme are entitled to a free first-round audition, and do not need to apply through UCAS. To request a free application, please email awp.team@lamda.ac.uk including your name, Pathways Partner organisation/school, and course you'd like to apply for.

Application fees. £88 for US-based applicants for in-person auditions. £27.50 UCAS fee (for 6 choices) for UK & International applicants, plus £15 first-round audition fee.
