No amount of CGI wonderment or heart string pulling nostalgia can make up for simply not having the essential characteristics of Peter Pan in a Peter Pan movie. Not even the title sharing Wendy, with her well performed trepidation about impending maturity, nor Hook and the deeper than usual dive into his PTSD, can make up for a flat, boring, Peter Pan that gives you no reason to root for him.
