The band's original lineup consisted of guitarist Joe Walsh, bassist Tom Kriss, and drummer Jim Fox. They were known for their high-energy live performances and blues-rock sound. The James Gang gained popularity in the late 1960s with the release of their first album, "Yer' Album" (1969), which featured their hit single "Funk #49."
