Danny Ray Whitten (Columbus, 8 maggio 1943 – Los Angeles, 18 maggio 1972) è stato un cantautore e chitarrista statunitense.Fu uno dei membri fondatori dei Crazy Horse, gruppo d'accompagnamento del musicista canadese Neil Young.Whitten è noto anche per essere l'autore del brano I Don't Want to Talk About It, rivelatosi un hit per Rita Coolidge, Rod Stewart ed Everything but the Girl.

Danny Whitten of Crazy Horse had introduced him to heroin and it now controlled his life. Berry died of an overdose of heroin and cocaine on June 4, 1973, just a few months after Whitten met the same fate. 19 de ene. de 1971 · Young wrote it about Danny Whitten, one of the original members of his band Crazy Horse. In 1971, Young went on tour and hired Crazy Horse and Nils Lofgren as backup. During rehearsals, Whitten was so high on heroin that he couldn't even hold up his guitar. Young fired him, gave Whitten 50 bucks (for rehab) and a plane ticket back to Los Angeles.
