Leben. Margaret MacDonald wurde als Tochter eines Bergbauingenieurs in der Nähe von Wolverhampton geboren. 1890 ließ sich die Familie in Glasgow nieder, wo Margaret und ihre Schwester Frances an der Glasgow School of Art studierten.
