Ketil Bjørnstad er en norsk pianist, komponist og forfatter. Bjørnstad var elev av Robert Riefling og Amalie Christie, og han konsertdebuterte i 1971.Som musiker har han for det meste arbeidet i grenselandet mellom moderne jazz og rock.Han er særdeles produktiv, har komponert både større verk og enkle melodier.Han har satt musikk til tekster av blant andre Knut Hamsun og Edvard Munch.
Ketil Bjørnstad arbeider innenfor flere musikalske sjangere i grenselandet mellom viser, jazz og rock, og har etablert seg som en av de ledende norske romanforfattere på slutten av 1900-tallet, med en uvanlig omfangsrik produksjon. Han har også markert seg i den offentlige debatt om emner som rettssikkerhet, ytringsfrihet, toleranse overfor fremmede kulturer og kjønnsproblematikk.
