Hi, I’ve had to cancel the remaining gigs for this year so I think this is a good time to let everyone know what is going on. For close to a year now, I’ve been battling stage 4 colon cancer.

17 de dic. de 2022 · Savoy Brown's legendary blues musician Kim Simmonds passed away on December 13, 2022 at the age of 75, after being diagnosed with colon cancer. Kim was diagnosed with “signet cell” colon cancer (SCCC). It is a fairly uncommon type of disease that only makes up 1% of cases. SCCC is rarely discovered early enough to offer a chance for recovery.

3 de sept. de 2017 · Many consider that the recordings featuring Chris Youlden’s rich vocals and songwriting augmented by Kim Simmonds’s jazz-tinged, fluent blues guitar, were Savoy Brown’s finest work; this being especially so on such late-1960s cuts as “She’s Got a Ring in His Nose and a Ring on Her Hand” (a classy swing-blues) and the completely different and desolate groove of “Mr. Downchild.”
