Jan Garbarek is a Norwegian jazz saxophonist, who is also active in classical music and world music. Garbarek was born in Mysen, Østfold, southeastern Norway, the only child of a former Polish prisoner of war, Czesław Garbarek, and a Norwegian farmer's daughter. He grew up in Oslo, stateless until the age of seven, as there was no automatic grant of citizenship in Norway at the time.

Jan Garbarek (født 4. marts 1947) er en norsk jazzmusiker af polsk afstamning, der spiller på en række forskellige instrumenter, men har sopransaxofonen som sit hovedinstrument. Han opfattes af mange som det mest udprægede eksempel på det, der kaldes en nordisk tone.
Jan Garbarek (s. 4. maaliskuuta 1947 Mysen, Norja) on norjalainen saksofonisti, joka soittaa jazzia, klassista ja maailmanmusiikkia. Garbarek teki ensimmäiset levytyksensä 1960-luvun lopulla, jolloin hän oli mukana muun muassa yhdysvaltalaisen jazz-muusikon George Russellin levyillä.
