Even though Frankenstein was my least favorite of the monsters growing up, Son of Frankenstein was easily one of my most watched Universal movies back then and it still slays all these years layers! An excellent follow up to Bride, from the thunderstorm opening/Baron arriving to a packed square of people who already hate him to the action packed laboratory finale.

Not only does he bear a reasonable physical resemblance to Colin Clive, but he also plays a similar angle of scientific curiosity, adding to it an idolization of the father he never knew.
