Sir Walter Winterbottom CBE (* 31. März 1913 in Oldham; † 16. Februar 2002 in Guildford) war ein englischer Fußballspieler und -trainer. Von 1946 bis 1962 war er Trainer und Manager der englischen Fußballnationalmannschaft. Er war der erste Coach, der auch das Amt des Managers innehatte.

Sir Walter Winterbottom CBE (31. marts 1913 - 16. februar 2002) var den første manager for det engelske fodboldlandshold (1946–1962). Han var desuden aktiv som spiller i Manchester United, hvor han spillede 26 kampe. Han blev født i Oldham, Lancashire.

Nascido em Oldham, Winterbottom tinha como primeira opção de carreira virar professor, tendo estudado no Chester Diocesan Training College, onde se formou em Educação Física em 1933.
