Jean Pierre Carl Hersholt, født Buron (12. juli 1886 i København – 2. juni 1956 i Beverly Hills) var en dansk-amerikansk stumfilmsskuespiller, som i 1914 flyttede til Hollywood for at forbedre sine karrieremuligheder.. Hersholt var H.C. Andersen-entusiast og hans oversættelser af dennes eventyr til engelsk siges at være de bedste engelsksprogede udgaver.

Jean Hersholt. Actor, Director. Born July 12, 1886 in Copenhagen, Denmark. If ever there was a Great Dane in Hollywood it was Jean Hersholt - and one of its great hearts as well. He was from a well-known Danish stage and entertainment family that had toured throughout Europe performing with young Jean as an essential cast member.

Jean Hersholt died on June 2, 1956, in Beverly Hills. In 1960, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was laid in his honor. In the years since Hersholt's death, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award was given to such recipients as Charlton Heston, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman, Quincy Jones, Jerry Lewis, and Oprah Winfrey.
