Melína Merkoúri fue una famosa actriz, cantante y política griega. Además de por su trayectoria como actriz, es muy considerada en su país por haber sido la primera mujer que dirigió el Ministerio de Cultura helénico. Esta intérprete ateniense fue nieta del que fuera alcalde de su ciudad natal durante décadas, Spyros Merkoúris.
