11 de feb. de 2007 · The Plasmatics are an underrated Punk/Metal band whose outrageous image and front-woman overshadowed their music. Coup D'etat is the band's magnum opus and worthy of mention among the best metal albums of the 80s. The album is full of crunch, speed and savagery. Wendy O's growl is unmatched and so is the band's lyrical cynicism.

Coup d'état war meine Einweihung in einen Sound, der sich irgendwie nicht einordnen lassen wollte. Die Plasmatics spielten keinen lupenreinen Heavy Metal, Hardcore war das aber auch wieder nicht. Auch jetzt, Jahrzehnte später lässt sich das für mich immer noch nicht in eine Schublade packen.
