Lady Caroline Maureen Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood est une journaliste et un écrivain. Elle est née dans une riche famille aristocratique anglo-irlandaise. En 1950, elle rencontre le peintre Lucian Freud (1922) avec qui elle s'installe un temps à Paris. En 1953, ils retournent vivre à Londres où ils se marient.
