With a cohesive sound, emotional depth and breadth, and primarily quiet artistry, "Too Old To Change" is Jerry Jeff's masterwork as "Pancho and Lefty" is the masterwork of Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson.
Jerry Jeff Walker Biography. Jerry Jeff Walker (born Ronald Clyde Crosby in Oneonta, New York, on 16 March 1942; died 23 October 2020) was an American country music singer and songwriter. He is best known for writing the 1968 song “Mr. Bojangles”. During the late 1950s, Crosby was a member of a local Oneonta teen band called The Tones.

1 de mar. de 2012 · Walker didn’t write a note on Too Old to Change (made when Walker was all of 37 years old), but the songs all come across as very personal snapshots of a man who very much was ready for a change. His cover of “Ain’t Living Long Like This” doesn’t hold a candle to Waylon’s, Emmylou’s, or Crowell’s original, but if nothing else, he packs it with conviction.
