1 de jun. de 1991 · Anthony Adverse is one of the best books I have ever read and I majored in literature. It is a literature major's dream. Although written in the early twentieth century the style is that of the Romantic era 100 years previously. I have to admit that it is not for everyone since the book is 1,234 pages long.

Anthony Adverse és una pel·lícula d’època dirigida per Mervyn LeRoy i protagonitzada per Fredric March i Olivia de Havilland. Basada en la novel·la homònima de Hervey Allen adaptada per Sheridan Gibney, es va estrenar el 29 d’agost de 1936.
Efectivamente, Anthony Adverse crece huérfano en un convento enamorándose de la hija del cocinero.
