The Sons of the Pioneers were considered by many to be the greatest western singing group of all time. The group was founded in Los Angeles in late 1933 as a vocal trio consisting of Roy Rogers, Bob Nolan and Tim Spencer. Their first commercial recordings were made in August 1934 for Decca.
