28 de mar. de 2020 · From 1974 to 1978, singer and model Ava Cherry, along with Robin Clark and Luther Vandross, a trio called the Astronettes, sang back-up for David Bowie. During the same time, she was also Bowie’s paramour. Cherry traveled the globe with Bowie, performing in front of vast audiences and hanging out with megastars like John Lennon, and the Rolling Stones.

Ava Cherry, née en 1953 à Woodlawn, Illinois, est une chanteuse soul et modèle américaine. Sous l'impulsion du chanteur britannique David Bowie, dont elle est alors la maîtresse et une des choristes, elle monte le groupe Ava Cherry & The Astronettes qui enregistre notamment les premières compositions de la période soul de Bowie. Elle poursuit ensuite une carrière solo de chanteuse.
