23 de jun. de 2023 · "The Beggar" was probably the most powerful Swans live piece of music I've ever experienced to date, yet the album version lacks everything what made it good, not to mention Michael reciting the lyrics with blank, rushed voice like he was a helpless child (pun intended) scolded by his teacher. Also, the lyrics for "Michael is gone". Sigh!
The Beggar was recorded and mixed at Candy Bomber Studio, Berlin, engineered by Ingo Krauss and mastered by Doug Henderson at Micro-Moose, Berlin.The album was written and produced by Michael Gira and features contributions from recent and former Swans, members of Angels of Light, as well as Guest Swan Ben Frost.
