The song deals with being a fan of music in the 70s and I always saw the middle section as me walking into the Hammersmith Odeon for the Bowie show in 1973.

Carriera. Nato nel distretto londinese di Islington, nel 1972 è apparso nel film Hide & Seek. Nel 1978, insieme al fratello Martin Kemp, ha fatto parte di un gruppo musicale chiamato The Makers, che è poi diventato uno dei gruppi più conosciuti della new wave britannica, gli Spandau Ballet.Negli Spandau Ballet, Gary Kemp è chitarrista ed autore di quasi tutti i brani della band.

All major success songs by the act, including songs like Gold or True have been written by Kemp. He is thus the key responsible that Spandau Ballet sold over 25 million units.
