This is not an out and out horror movie. If your looking for a brainless slasher flick try elsewhere. But suppose you are open to someone playing around with the horror genre - throw in a bit of humour, some sci-fi a dash of reality tv and a blob of fantasy and you have the Cabin in the Woods.

One imagines the filmmakers chortling with glee as they devise first one bizarre development and then another in a free-for-all for their imaginations. They establish rules only to violate them.
